Chanuka, also known as Hanukkah or Festival of Lights, is a Jewish observance. The Last Day of Chanuka is on December 10th this year.   This period of time is for remembrance of the Jewish people’s struggle for religious freedom. Generally, it last for eight days.  Menorahs are lit daily.  You will hear a special prayer while the candles are being lit.  Songs and games are played.  Also, customs shows gift-giving or homes being decorated.  Lastly, in Israel this day is not a public holiday.  It is however during a school holiday period.
