MLK Day is on the third Monday of January of every year.  MLK Day is a Federal holiday and celebrates the birthday, life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr.  Also, this day is a “Day of Service” with people volunteering to help those less fortunate than others.  A Baptist minister, an advocate of non-violence and of the American Civil Rights Movement, King was assassinated in 1968.  However, his legacy is alive today.  To read all about his legacy and history click here.

In 2019, places such as Chicago, Atlanta, and New York have numerous events where anyone can partake in on this day.  Let us all continue the legacy by volunteering and generate solutions to various social issues.
