Feast of the Immaculate Conception

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic observance.  It is a celebration of the belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  As a result, December 8th is the date of universal honor.  It’s a legal holiday in Guam.  However, it is not a nationwide public holiday in the U.S.  Churches hold special services. This is to commemorate the concept that the Virgin Mary was conceived without sin.  In Guam, you can view the statue representing the occasion.  Our Lady of Camarin (Santa Marian Kamalen) rest on the shores of Merizo.  It has been present for more than 300 years.
